Stergios Ntanavaras, MSc PhD Student Email: |
Background
Stergios holds a BSc (2021) in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from the University of Crete and an MSc (2024) in Computational Intelligence from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His master's thesis, conducted at the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), addressed two interconnected objectives: the generation of synthetic Type 2 Diabetes patient profiles and patient-caretaker agent dialogues using large language models, and the design and implementation of a knowledge extraction pipeline applied to these dialogues in the context of type 2 diabetes management.
Currently, his PhD focuses on the generation of synthetic electronic health records from real-world clinical data using deep learning techniques, studying privacy-utility trade-offs inherent to synthetic data, and support the development of predictive models in various healthcare use cases within the framework of the SYNTHIA consortium.
