The Health Data Science group is growing and we often have open positions for PhD Students and Postdocs to join our team. Candidates must be highly motivated, willing to learn and demonstrate initiative in their tasks. Good written and verbal communication skills are required. All open vacancies can be found on the Erasmus MC website.
We invite Master Students in the area of biomedical informatics, bioinformatics, computer science, econometrics, or (bio)statistics to contact us for possibilities for a project for a Master's Thesis. In general, these projects focus on developing novel AI/ML methods using data from Dutch primary care.
Example projects:
- Fairness in Prediction Models: Investigate how patient-level prediction models perform across various patient subgroups to assess their fairness and potential biases.
- Robustness of Clinical Models: Develop strategies to enhance the robustness of clinical prediction models, including techniques for model interpretability and post-hoc explanations.
- Multimodal Data Integration: Explore approachess for integrating structured data (e.g. diagnosis codes) with unstructured data (e.g. clinical notes) to improve predictive performance.
- Temporal EHR Data: Investigate how to effectively incorporate the temporal dimension of Electronic Health Record (EHR) data into clinical prediction models to improve their ability to predict.
- Federated Learning: Research strategies for training patient-level prediction models across a network of databases, focusing on methods to update predictive models while ensuring patient privacy and data security.
We are also open for collaborations with Academia and Industry. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss the opportunities.
