Background
Guido completed his medical degree in 2018 at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. In 2018, he wrote his master thesis, “Establishing a parathyroid cell-line”, at the Mannstadt Laboratory of the Endocrine Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, United States.
From 2013 to 2015, he worked at the Calcium and Bone-metabolism laboratory, department of Internal Medicine of the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam as a research assistant on his own project “The identification and characterization of possible cancer stem cells in bone metastasis of prostate cancer.”
In March 2019, Guido started his PhD the department of General Practice at the Erasmus MC. He finished his thesis “Children and adolescents with musculoskeletal complaints: prevalence, characteristics and management” in June 2024 and will defend his thesis on March 12th 2025. From September 2019 he also took part in the vocational training to be a general practitioner but in June 2024 voluntarily left the training program.
During his PhD in 2022 he also obtained his Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences (NIHES) at the Erasmus MC Graduate School.
Currently, Guido is appointed as Epidemiologist, working within the DARWIN EU® project.
