The 7th OHDSI Europe Symposium: Continuous Collaboration for Living Evidence Generation took place on 20 April 2026 in Rotterdam, following two days of tutorials, workshops, and community meetings. Organized by the Department of Medical Informatics at Erasmus MC, the symposium marked the return of the event to its home base after the 2025 edition in Hasselt.
This year's symposium reached record participation, welcoming 375 attendees to the main event and 200 participants to the pre-symposium programme, both of which sold out. The programme featured 130 poster presentations, 15 software demonstrations, collaborator showcase presentations, national node updates, and interactive sessions exploring the future of open science, standardized health data, and real-world evidence generation. Participants represented academia, healthcare providers, industry, government, and technology organizations from across Europe and beyond.
Centered around the theme "Continuous Collaboration for Living Evidence Generation," the symposium explored how the OHDSI community can move beyond static studies towards continuously maintained, collaboratively generated evidence. Discussions highlighted advances in data quality, standardized vocabularies, open-source analytics, national collaboration, and patient-centered real-world evidence, reflecting the continued growth of the European OHDSI network and its contribution to international research and regulatory science.
Session recordings, presentation slides, collaborator showcase presentations, software demonstrations, posters, and other symposium materials are available on the OHDSI Europe website (OHDSI Europe - Symposium 2026), allowing both attendees and those who could not join to explore the programme and its outcomes.
